A stronger approach to crowd management and event delivery

Radius was founded by Mike Knowles and James Sweeney, who built their careers through hands-on delivery in crowd management, security, and stewarding before developing into trusted event professionals.

Recognising the need for practical, high-quality crowd management support grounded in both operational experience and formal study, they established Radius to provide specialist services. The business quickly developed a strong and diverse client base, delivering across a wide range of events, from community celebrations to major international festivals and sporting events. Projects have included motorsport, mass participation sport, ceremonial, festivals, music concerts, expos and much more.

As part of its continued growth, 2025 marked a strategic evolution for Radius. During the delivery of a major event, James worked closely with Rachel Jackson and Adam Robson on the redesign of the crowd management plan and the coordination of security across a large and complex site. This collaboration demonstrated the value of a broader leadership model and led to Rachel and Adam joining the business as full time directors.

Today, Radius offers a fully integrated, end-to-end approach to event safety and crowd management. The team combines complementary skills across planning, operational delivery, control room support, tabletop exercising, training, and Zone Ex management, providing clients with clear, practical solutions from concept through to live delivery and review.
